Anti-wrinkle injections are the most common non-invasive cosmetic procedure. The treatment is simple, quick and relatively painless.
Over time, facial wrinkles form as we use our muscles to make repeated facial expressions. Anti-wrinkle treatments can smooth fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing part of the muscle involved in forming the facial expression.
The most commonly requested areas are frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead; however muscle relaxants can also be used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) and migraine with our specialist.
Generally treatment takes about 20 - 30 minutes, discomfort is minimal and brief, and no anaesthetic is usually required and normal activities can be resumed after 4 hours. After the treatment it takes about 7 – 10 days to see the full effect and can last up to 4 months before lines slowly begin to return. If you have repeat treatments, the effect tends to last longer or discontinuation of treatments means the muscles will eventually return to normal activity and your wrinkles will revert to their pre-treatment levels.
